After being a bit unsatisfied with the last self portrait that I did, I did my hair and makeup and took a bunch of pictures with Mabel, who was only slightly willing to be a model with me. Then I got to be obsessive and photoshop a bunch of the pictures together until I got a reference I was happy with. And then I decided I wasn’t happy with that reference and made two more.
I think I might have been so critical about posing and messing around with it because it is a self portrait. I do like this one more than the last one, at the very least.
All of my tattoos are overlays from the photos I took, and I used a lot of overlaying photos and painting on top to get Mabel right. I feel a lot better about this one than the last one, I think
