Remembered

It’s November 2nd, which means it’s the Day of the Dead!  In honor of that, I’ve made this sugar skull tribute to my grandparents.

This is based on one of my favorite pictures of them, from back before they were married.  My grandma was sixteen and my grandpa was eighteen.  When I asked when the picture was taken, my grandpa told me that they were “still courting.”

They were married for sixty-two years before my grandpa died, and Grandma joined him last year.  They loved each other and all of us so much, and we miss them every day.

I hope everyone is having an excellent Dia De Los Muertos, and if you’re not observing it, an excellent Sunday.
