I have been a fan of the Monkey Island games ever since I was a kid, but I haven’t made finished fan art for it in over a decade. I recently decided to start replaying The Curse of Monkey Island, my favorite in the series, and that turned into replaying all the games.
I love the characters and I love the dialogue and I love that I can replay the games and still laugh at the dialogue and get stumped by the puzzles.
This piece took so long and there were parts of it that were hard for me to sit down and work on. I’m really happy with the background (I had to include the Monkey Island clouds!) but I might have to draw Elaine and Guybrush again at some point, because I’m not 100% happy with them.
