I am so happy with how this one came out. Usually doing multiple full-body figures in one piece is super exhausting for me, but that was not the case this time. I started the drawing and put Scooby-Doo on to watch in the background and it was just a really nice time.
I had tons of fun re-imagining their outfits. I changed Thorn’s the least, mostly just making it a cropped two-piece. Dusk’s is basically her original color scheme and borrowing some elements like the shorts and the torn sweater from her outfit in Scooby-Doo: Mystery Incorporated. As far as Luna goes, I mostly just kept her color scheme and gloves. I don’t like her original jacket much, it feels too much like business attire to me, so I wanted to give her something new and I thought something like a marching band jacket would be a nice MCR nod as well as just looking cute.
I had completely forgotten that the Hex Girls had a logo on their stage backdrop until I was looking at references again. I originally had just remade the logo from Witch’s Ghost but at the last minute I decided to make an entirely new one. It’s still a circle that says “HEX” but I added moon details to reference magic circles at least a little. I’m pretty pleased with it.
Genuinely, this one was so fun to do, and I’ve been meaning to draw the Hex Girls probably since Scooby-Doo and the Witch’s Ghost came out in 1999. I really want to draw them again.
